So far this week: I went to class on Monday, I pulled up the carpet in my house on Tuesday (Yes, by myself and yes, my back still hurts from that and moving the furniture to do it.), I went to the dentist on Wednesday, I had steak and a baked potato with Sadie for Thanksgiving yesterday.

So far today:

I know, there must be pictures or it didn't happen. I didn't take my camera shopping, but I'll take pictures of the tree and the cake!

Tomorrow is the Annual Family Reunion. My family is very Southern. There shall be pictures of that for sure.

I need someone to go with me to a concert! I have two tickets in row 11 (!!!) for Celtic Thunder's last concert of their current tour. It's in Orlando, Florida on November 21st. The Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Come with me! It's already paid for! All you have to do is get there! (Well, to my house that morning or to the hotel I'm staying at in Orlando that afternoon.)

Yes, I now have the Sims 3. So, of course, I started by making some of the JL people. My favorite part is assigning all the personality traits and seeing what careers/lifetime goals go with those traits. These are the eight I've made so far (because I'm still limited to eight at a time).

Unfortunately, I can't take pictures because my graphics card is not compatible with the game and there are black shapes and lines all over the screen when I play it. I have ordered a new graphics card with my Amazon gift certificate! So...soon!

And no worries! I'm not switching the actual JL Sims from the Sims 2. The content just isn't available (yet) for that kind of storytelling. And I've worked way too hard to get the Sims 2 just right for them.

Anyway. School starts Monday! The kids come back on Wednesday! I'm so excited! No, really. Because, if you'll remember, I love my job. :D

I was dreaming this morning about something...I'm not sure what...but in the dream there were ambulances and fire engines. Then this guy started shouting things. As it turns out, this wasn't a dream. My dog started barking and woke me up. And, apparently, there were about five fire trucks, sirens blazing, in the school parking lot next door. As the person in charge shouted things with a bullhorn. At 7:30. Saturday morning. So I got dressed and pretended to go and get the paper (I don't really get one, but I have the paper box), just to see what was happening. And they were all leaving. I'm still confused. 1. It's summer. 2. It's Saturday. 3. It's 7:30 in the morning. I have no idea what was going on, but it was annoying.

You know, for someone who doesn't talk very much, Iso thinks a whole lot in italics. Which I always mess up coding, somehow. It's an effort of love. And Keghead made me giggle the first time I saw a finished version of him. (He's Photoshopped, by the way, not an actual Sim, so that's also an effort of love.) Also! Two more parts until Sacrifices! :D

Remember in the JL Sims outtakes when the Tri-Leaders randomly showed up? I realized at the time that I had made those characters with the original game and no special downloaded items. It was definitely time for a makeover. So what better opportunity to make over their whole camp and themselves than a birthday party for Ann?

And then I was going to post it on Laura's actual birthday, but we had really bad storms and no power for my computer. :(

And then I was going to post it yesterday, but apparently I had storytelling mode off or something because it didn't save the pictures? Or it saved them in another place? I dunno.

And then I was going to post it today, but my game had a hilarious glitch at the very end (there are outtakes--to be seen later) and I have to re-do the second half.

In actual news, printmaking is awesome! We're having a great time and we're learning all kinds of new printing techniques! Two and a half more weeks!

I dropped my iPod in the sink yesterday while I was washing dishes. Serves me right, I know. So it started freaking out and switching songs and changing the volume all by itself. I immediately searched the internet for any possible way to save it. The internet told me to put it in a sealed container of uncooked rice overnight because the rice would draw out all the water. And lo and behold, it's fine today!!! \o/

I downloaded (from iTunes, not illegally) the Broadway soundtracks for Billy Elliot and Rock of Ages. Both are awesome. (I also downloaded Don't Stop Believin' from Glee, which is even more awesome.)

My summer class starts tomorrow. It's three weeks long, every day from 11 to 4. There are five girls in the class and Mr. Pearce, the department head. Knowing the five of us, all I have to say is poor Mr. Pearce. We're doing mixed media printmaking. It's all very exciting. :D

In other great news, I'm going to see Celtic Thunder three times this fall! I'm going on October 24th to Atlanta. I have a hotel room at the Georgian Terrace hotel, across the street from the Fox Theater where they're performing. I'm going to Jacksonville on October 25th. (Hey, if they can do it, I can do it.) The Jacksonville theater is my favorite theater to go to and I've seen lots and lots of shows there. I'm also going to their last concert for this tour on November 21st in St. Petersburg, Florida. It's going to be good times.

Did I mention I'm also going on a cruise October 16-19? And the state art ed conference (where the five previously mentioned people are giving a presentation) is November 12-15? And the school Space Center trip is November 19 and 20? My only saving grace for all this travel and lack of sleep is that I'll have a student teacher, who will be solo teaching around that time. Oh, right! More news! They've (VSU and my principal) decided that I'm a good enough teacher to be a mentor for a student teacher! \o/

Sadie and I had an impromptu photo shoot today because she finally let me put the pink ponytail bow in her fur.

Also, my game kept crashing for some reason, so I deleted an entire folder of new downloads and now it's fine. Problem is, I don't know what exactly was in that folder.
